People in Action,
this year's Mayor's Appeal charity for Nuneaton and
Bedworth, made a grand appearance at this year's Nuneaton
Carnival. With raffle tickets, tee shirts, pin badges and
plant sales there was something for everyone when they visited
the charities stall. However the highlight of the day for
some of the service users helping on the stall, in between
enjoying all the carnival had to offer, was a visit from Officer
Crabtree himself. Arthur Bostrom who played Officer Crabtree
in the famed Allo Allo took a few moments out from his day
to visit some of the People in Action service users and staff
who were at the carnival. "It's always great when you get
to met someone you've seen for years on TV, but it's a real
highlight for our service users when a star takes the time
out to say hello, sign an autograph and especially to pose
for a photo with them." This is actually the second time People
in Action has had the pleasure to meet with Arthur Bostrom.
The first was in 2002 when he presented tickets to his show
to one of the service users at People in Action's office.
People
in Action, whose head office is based in Bedworth, work
throughout the Midlands, providing a full range of support
and services to more than 160 adults in the community. People
in Action is a charity that works to ensure everyone in the
community receive full and fair treatment, and most importantly
live as independently as possible.
