TERMS AND CONDITIONS
OF EMPLOYMENT
Pay
Support Workers are
paid £6.50 - £7.00 per hour. If you are employed within the South Warwickshire
area, you can expect to receive an additional £1 per hour enhancement
rate. When you "sleep-in" overnight, then you will be paid £21.50 for
an eight hour sleep-in shift. If you work any of the eight Bank Holidays,
you will be entitled to double time or have time off in lieu. Waking Nights
rate is different. You will be paid on 18th of each month, one month in
arrears, directly into your bank account or building society account of
your choice. Any sleep-ins or relief work will be paid one month in arrears.
Contracted Hours
You will be expected
to be able to work your contracted hours in a 24-hour rota which covers
a full 7 days. This means that you may be asked to work varying shift
patterns depending on the needs of the service users.
Probationary Period
When you join People
in Action, your first 6 months service will be a probationary period when
your performance and suitability will be reviewed.
Entitlement to Employers
Sick Pay
During your probationary
period, you will only be entitled to statutory sick pay. Once your permanent
position has been confirmed, you will be entitled to the following employer's
sick pay:-
9 months - 12 months - 2 weeks pay
After 12 months - 24 months - 4 weeks pay
After 24 months - 36 months - 8 weeks pay
After 36 months - 12 weeks pay
Holiday Entitlement
You are entitled
to 4 times your weekly contracted hours holiday each year. This rises
to 5 times your weekly contracted hours after 5 years continuous service.
During your first year of service, you are not entitled to take any holidays
with pay until it has been accrued.
Period of notice
You will be required
to give four weeks notice in writing. People in Action will give you one
week's notice in writing for your first 2 years of service. An additional
weeks notice will be given for each completed year of continuous employment
up to a maximum of 12 years continuous service.
