The garden project is located in a modern nursery and grows a range of plants, eg. Summer and winter bedding, perennials and house plants. The nursery also supplies seasonal items, such as Christmas wreaths. There is also a temperate house on the premises which houses exotic plants and a fish pond with koi carp.

In 2005 People in Action officially opened the sensory garden at Leasowes Garden Nursery. The sensory garden was made possible thanks to the hard work of Oakleaf Landscapes and a grant from Barclays. The sensory garden provides People in Action with a unique opportunity to use the garden as a sensory tool for therapy and relaxation of all our service users and the general public.

The Sensory Garden at Leasowes Nursery, has won a prestigious National BALI Award. The award was given to Oakleaf Landscapes Ltd. Based at Sutton Coldfield, in the West Midlands at the BALI National Landscape Awards 2005 held in London on Friday 18th November. Oakleaf Landscapes designed the sensory garden for People in Action and it was built with the help of the staff and service users at Leasowes Garden Nursery which is run by People in Action a charity working with and for adults who have learning disabilities.
